The mouth of Nine Mile is located about 22  miles from Wellington, Utah. The canyon

itself is approximately 40 miles long. The canyon contains over 800 Pictographs

and Petroglyphs, an Indian village and many more structures.

A Pictograph is a picture painted on the rock walls. And a Petroglyph is

carved into the rock walls.

.

Some of the artwork is over 2,500 years old. These were created by the

Fremont Indians. There are also a few writing by the Ute Indians which are

a few years newer.

Nine Mile is located off the beaten trail. There isn't any water fountains, or gas stations,

so be sure to take plenty of water.
